URGENT APPEAL TO OUR SUPPORTERS
Journey’s End Animal Sanctuary has never faced a challenge as serious as the one before us today.
For more than 40 years, Journey’s End has provided love, safety, and compassionate care to animals with nowhere else to go. The sanctuary was founded by Florence Thuot, whose lifelong mission was to give special needs, senior, and abandoned animals a safe haven and a second chance at life. Florence dedicated her life to ensuring Journey’s End would continue to thrive and care for animals in need.
After Florence passed away in February 2024, ownership of the property became uncertain for more than two years. We have now been informed by the new property owner that Journey’s End must vacate the property we have called home for decades.
This means we stand to lose:
• Five acres used for dog exercise and farm animal grazing
• Pig enclosures for Snoopy, Piggie, and Reuben
• The sheep corral for Dakota, Kai, and Helena
• Housing for 37 cats, including specialized Kidney Care and Diabetic Care rooms
• Safe shelter for 8 senior and special-needs dogs
Animals like Fat Fat, Chompers, Austin, Luna, Oliver, Koda, Jada, Max, and so many others depend on us every single day.
But one thing will never change:
WE WILL NOT ABANDON OUR MISSION.
Journey’s End will continue fighting for these animals with determination, compassion, and unwavering commitment. If necessary, our staff, volunteers, and board members will foster animals in their own homes until we can reunite them at a new permanent sanctuary location.
Our most urgent need right now is securing a new home. We are actively searching for:
• Property to lease or purchase
• 2.5 to 5 acres
• Existing buildings suitable for animal care
• Possible land donations
To relocate and establish a safe new sanctuary, we must raise $100,000 for moving expenses, enclosures, veterinary care, and emergency operating costs during this transition.
Time is extremely limited, but with your help, it is possible.
